A little about Cows and Sticks...

Today i had a family lunch at Jack's place. Well, you might think it was just a boring family lunch, but i was acty looking forward to it cuz i could meet my cousins and my two beautiful and cute little nieces. Yea im an UNCLE liao.. so old bwaha. Btw my cousins are grown up liao but they are all quite cool and its nice to hear to them talk cuz they are those jet-setting type. However the most impt point was that, since the day before, i was already wishing excitedly for a huge piece of juicy JACK's PLACE STEAK with potato and soup. And i was soooo looking forward to chowing down on that steak.

We spent half an hour looking thru the menu while waiting for the others to come. There was so much.. got Asian Butter Steak, Sambal steak, jack's special bla bla bla.. i couldnt make up my mind cuz i wasnt sure which was the largest. so i asked my cousin ( shes has a business in the US so i assume she would know everything)..

Me: " hey wads the difference btw tenderloin and sirloin?"
Me: " does this set has potato?"
Me: " so sirloin is bigger than tenderloin?"
Me: " are u sure the size of the steak is the same for the set lunch and the main course meal?"

and so on and so on. I had to make sure i made the right choice. Finally i settled for a sirloin set meal while my bro ate a tenderloin set. Man i was so excited cuz i was gonna own a huge piece of SIRLOIN OMG i have not eaten steak in about 20 yrs. ( i was secretly happy cuz my cousin said that tenderloin was thicker and therefore smaller bwahaha)

Finally the dishes came. Guess wad?

My bro's steak was absolutely HUGE. AND IT CAME ON A STEAMING HOT PLATE WITH A BIG POTATO BY THE SIDE.

MINE WAS SMALL AND THIN AND HAD NO POTATO AND IT CAME ON A PLAIN PLATE!!!

WTH...

immediately my face turned black. My dreams were dashed. i vowed that in the future, i will always order RIBEYE steak, and ask whether they serve it on a HOT PLATE with a POTATO.

For the sake of humanity, i have done research on cows.. As u can see from the above picture, it shows the various cuts of meat from a cow. ( im not promoting the slaughter of cows for meat or wad but this is good to know esp for future wives)

Tenderloin is a pretty good cut tho not the most expensive.
Sirloin, is a pretty lan cut. Quite cheap.

Next time, just order ribeye la. Wont be wrong one. and ask them to serve it on a Hot plate with a potato.
